the stranger

and they say you never spake of him
(that stranger)
But, please let it be known:
that HE is the stranger,
and yes,
I do know many of his plays.
But not all...and he is
YES, my stranger.
and no Greek has given, nor athlete reached
nor the loves of summer.
None have grasped this piece of peace and made me know.
Knowledge without lesson, power without endowment.
As an ADULT, I know these things...and they free my heart
which once felt bound by LOVE
yet now is free and feels so high.
