(that stranger)
But, please let it be known:
that HE is the stranger,
and yes,
I do know many of his plays.
But not all...and he is
YES, my stranger.
and no Greek has given, nor athlete reached
nor the loves of summer.
None have grasped this piece of peace and made me know.
Knowledge without lesson, power without endowment.
As an ADULT, I know these things...and they free my heart
which once felt bound by LOVE
yet now is free and feels so high.

I have searched to find the touch
I have tried to kiss the lips
I have opened myself to the love
opened for the connection
if even for a night.
but you see, nothing comes close
I want to hold those hands and I see them in mine now
I want to feel those legs against mine in embrace and
I know their warmth.
I want that nervous movement and assured gaze in my eyes
and I find again
nothing comes close.
Wishing on every star - even the ones that fall from the sky
Looking to the sun especially those setting in pink clouds
Praying to all the gods (even trying the ones I never knew) and nothing,
nothing comes close.
