oh to have these words light
fire to my nights and
lend warmth to my days
but like snowflakes
each one brings a cold shiver to my naked flesh-
and a frigid draft in my heart.
That I might open
and be marred again or
even thrilled.
I would (at least) like have to a proper
framework to display all of these moments.
The ones I love and hate and repeat
so that I may never bring harm upon them again.
Those before now, regretfully I must confess,
were in ice blue shadow.
I am ashamed like rain and my cold
dry spark has been all that could be known.
Now in the light of day no shadows will cast from me
onto anyone
as I prepare for
twilight on the eve of a new day.
ice blue shadows fall prey
to shiny bright skies
where shooting stars await
